Interesting weekend. First it was off to see The Grudge (after two thousand errands of doom). It pretty much went like this for me.
Random Japanese Girl: *hears strange noise upstairs* *in Japanese* Hello? *goes to investigate*
Noise: *THUMP THUMP*
RJG: *in Japanese* Is anyone there?
Noise: *THUMP THUMP OF DOOM*
Stupid RJG: *goes up the stairs*
AND OUT JUMPS THE STAY PUFT MARSHMALLOW MAN AND DOES THE CONGA!
Buffy: Hello? What's up there? *goes up the fucking stairs like an idiot with a death wish*
Soundtrack: *is ominous*
Noise: *is doom*
Buffy: *keeps going*
AND OUT JUMPS A BUNNY.
Old Woman: *wandering around house*
Soundtrack: Ooo-eee-ooo. *piano*
Old Woman: *EYES REALLY FUCKING WIDE* *looks around the corner and SEES...!*
Dobby: Dobby likes to play piano, miss! Yes, Dobby likes it very much! La-la-la-la! Dobby likes the piano!
See, this is because I kept my eyes shut. And when I did look, I left my glasses off. And I was still scared shitless once bunnies, marshmallow men, Dobby, can-can dancers, William Shatner, and a cheerleading squad weren't enough to convince me that there's REALLY NOTHING THERE. THAT HORRIBLE CREAKY NOISE IS MADE BY POM POMS, NOT VENGEFUL GHOSTS.
I learned my lesson. The one time I left my eyes open and my glasses on to watch a seemingly normal exposition scene, they cheated. A horrible FACE appeared and creaky-clacked and my skin actually crawled.
After the movie I drove a scared Becky to Kari's house to spend the night. I slept, amazingly.
Got back, spent Saturday volunteering, stayed up to watch SNL (hahahaha. <3 Jude. I laugh at Ashlee Simpson.) Today have beennot working on research paper. I did my bibliography.

I can really sympathize with being scared.

Date: 2004-10-24 06:31 pm (UTC)i have never been more scared while watchng a movie in my life- i was actually screaming in the theatre. AAAAHHH! And I've never done that before. In fact, during The Ring, I was laughing. Fuh. And the face in the window got me too. I barely saw 1/4 of the screen for the last ten minutes of the movie because I was crumpled up in a little ball grabbing on to Rose who was sitting next to me, with my hate pulled down over my eyes.
Aaaaaand I'm still freaking out.

That cracked me up man. I woke up today (at 5:30 am of doom) and my first thought was "Whew," and the second was "Oh shit, it's really, fucking DARK. *whimper*" It took me an hour to work up the nerve to reach for my fan light. It required me to let go of the covers, so I was disinclined to acquiest that request.
Thank god for sleepovers to knock you out with fatigue!
