Hangin' With My Pepys
Mar. 7th, 2007 03:51 pmTomorrow Kate, Rebecca and I are going by Northgate and Pegasus Connection to look at the two and make a decision. I would prefer Northgate, but am willing to settle for Pegasus Connection if it feels right. I'm immensely excited and the fact that I'm in this housing search with confirmed roommates makes it so much easier. I feel like the stress that's been driving me insane and into random panic episodes has slipped away and I can relax again. Also, hopefully we'll have similar decorating senses so I can try as best I can to make things look like this, which is my current standards for design. That and the stuff out of Handmade Modern.
We watched a video in Human Species today about the Japanese macaques. (You know - these guys.) In the section focused on the coastal dwelling ones troop, there was this little orphan monkey the Kratt brothers named Limpet and he was adorable and had tiny buggy eyes, and we were supposed to root for him and the Kratt brothers were all "Oh, the odds are against this guy, but he has the alpha male protecting him and his sister helping him out and a strong will to live and these creatures have a plucky ability to press on despite the odds. We're pulling for you, Limpet!" and then at the end of the movie a little text thing popped up and went "Yeah, that monkey we showed you and made you love and implied he would be a miraculous success story despite the odds? He totally died." And in English History my prof couldn't resist terrible, terrible puns in his slide headings.
I'm ridiculously excited about my dinner tonight. I've been marinating chicken since last night and tonight I'm going to cook it and have it with delicious rice. I've been looking forward to this since I went to the grocery store. I might run out of milk, though. Teach me to get a half-gallon. Pah.
Oh, this weekend, I'm going to a freaking TOGA PARTY in honor of 300 coming out. How cool am I? So, Spartans...where are we dining tonight?
